Safety Officer

TVO is having the OL3 Nuclear Power Plant built by Areva and Siemens consortium and several of their subcontractors. We are now looking for the following professional to work for our client company Areva NP based in OL3 site:

Safety Officer

to work as a part of the H&S Team on site following the instruction of Safety Engineer. We are now looking for a person to strengthen the team already working on site.

The main duties indlude:

• Anticipate difficulties (interfaces) and propose alternative ways to work.
• Preliminary review of the risk assessment/Method Statement submitted by the contractors.
• Preliminary review of the risk assessment/Method Statement submitted by AREVA for commissioning activity.
• Check the implementation on site of safety rules and mitigation measures defined in the risk assessment.
• Manage the safety inspection on site with the contractors. Follow up corrective actions defined during the inspection.
• Closely work with supervisors and Function Group to have the knowledge of the coming activities (anticipation) and involve them in the daily safety.
• Animate the safety in the Function Groups.

Be pro-active to propose safety issues to improve our level and the attitude on site.

To succeed in this position, You need to have at least a couple of years of work experience on safety field, preferably on a construction site or industrial field. You also need to have a good knowledge on Finnish Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, be qualified for OHSAS 18001 referential and be skilled to write procedures and instructions. Knowledge or experience in electrical, Mechanical risks linked to industrial activities or commissioning activities will be of great benefit. Besides this, you should also be fluent in Finnish and English, both written and spoken and be comfortable with speaking in public.
