Tuula Mäenpää, agent with the Finnish Cultural Foundation

Tuula Mäenpää participated in the direct search process implemented by Proselectum for the Finnish Cultural Foundation for the position of an agent responsible for financial and administrative duties. Here is what Tuula says about the recruitment process and her current work:

'I was not looking for a new job when I was contacted by Proselectum for the first time. It is therefore to their credit that I got to know about my current position, which I really enjoy!

It was via Proselectum that I got to work as an agent responsible for the administration of the Finnish Cultural Foundation. My work provides me with versatile duties in financial, personnel, and property administration. I find my work in this environment very meaningful and even fascinating, because by awarding grants the Finnish Cultural Foundation supports the development of science and the arts in Finland extensively. In addition, we implement our own cultural projects.

The direct search process includes several rounds of interviews and a psychological assessment. Although the application process was long, I was informed about its progress very well the whole time. All schedules were agreed on with me in detail well in advance, and I was at all times aware of the progress of the selection. In connection with the interviews, I received plenty of information on the duties related to the position and the Finnish Cultural Foundation, both verbally and in writing.

The psychological assessment took the position I was applying for into consideration well. I also received a written psychological report from the assessment and was offered a chance to ask the psychologist who had performed the evaluation about the assessment.

I found the application process very professional. From the applicant's point of view, the operations of Proselectum differ from those of other personnel consulting companies whose processes I have been involved in. The biggest difference is in the fact that the service is very personalised. Even the atmosphere on the assessment day was warm, and as an applicant I found that I was treated as an individual.'
