Career Coaching
Proselectum provides career coaching services for companies undergoing transition, supporting their employees during a possible reduction in personnel. The purpose of career coaching is to assist and coach employees who are facing unemployment or other career transition, and to optimise their job search. The aims are to explore new career directions, initiate a systematic job-seeking process, and find a new post for the employee. Our services are tailored to meet the needs both of companies and of the individuals employed.
Proselectum consultants are actively involved in the field of recruiting and therefore have in-depth knowledge of both the present and future personnel needs of enterprises. The professionalism and market intelligence provided by our consultants are put to the benefit of the career-coached individual.
Description of Our Career Coaching Service
Starting points vary between individuals, and our services are therefore tailored to each case. Some may have been involved in a recruitment process recently, others in the more distant past. Working alongside the employee, we evaluate the areas in need of support or improvement and tailor our services accordingly. The duration of career coaching depends on the case and ranges from a single session to several meetings.
In coaching, the individual familiarises him- or herself with techniques for approaching potential employers, résumé and cover letter preparation, interview preparation and skills, offer negotiation, his or her work personality, dealing with change, etc.
The coaching process begins with the Proselectum consultant becoming familiar with the client that seeks to provide coaching for its employees, and with the situation, organisation, and business operations of that enterprise. We are involved at the earliest stage possible during periods of transition or of layoffs. In collaboration with representatives of the company, we reflect on the aspirations and needs of employees who may be affected, and the scope of the coaching services required. Career coaching is always voluntary for the employee.
In some situations, it may be preferable to accomplish the coaching through group sessions, concentrating on efficient job search methods.
Career coaching may also be combined with psychological assessment, where the individual is taught how to react to the situation at hand and to increase awareness and understanding of his or her own work methods, personality, and ways of interacting.
